Spicy Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup

Sometimes you just gotta take a classic to the next level.

This is your classic Grilled Cheese Sammie & Tomato Soup, but it’s spiced up and made fabulous.

Very little cooking skill required!  You need to be able to make tomato soup at the same time as you make a delicious grilled cheese sandwich.

This is a great recipe to make if you have a friend coming over.  It’s comforting, cheap, and tasty as hell.

Here’s what you need to make Spicy Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup:

  • A can of tomato soup
  • Half a soup can of milk
  • Half a soup can of water
  • A bit of white onion
  • Half a fresh jalapeno pepper (more if you really like it!)
  • A bit of green pepper
  • A good chunk of cheddar cheese (or two smaller chunks, one of mozzarella and one of cheddar)
  • 2 pieces of bread
  • A little bit of butter/margarine

Here’s how to make it:

1. Pour the tomato soup into a saucepan and add half a can of milk and half a can of water.  Whisk it around until it’s smooth.  Cook it according to the directions on the can.

2.  While the soup is heating up, grate the cheese (anywhere between 1/2 to 1 full cup’s worth).  Chop up the onions, jalapenos, and green peppers and put it all in a bowl together. Stir it so everything is mixed up.

4.  Butter one side of a piece of bread and put it butter-side down in a pan.  Put it on medium heat.

6.  Spread the cheese stuff out so it’s all evenly spread on top of the bread and it goes to all four corners. You don’t want any un-cheesy bites!!

9.  While your grilled cheese cooks, sprinkle some of the cheese mixture into the bottom of the mug or bowl that you’ll be eating the tomato soup out of.  I like to use a mug.
