Perogies

Perogies are probably God’s greatest gift to man.

They’re potatoes and cheese, all cooked up together into pieces just bigger than a mouthful.

If you’ve never tried perogies but you love potatoes and cheese, try them.  They take less than ten minutes to make and they are super-cheap.  And once you’ve cooked them, you can add anything you like to make them delicious to your own individual taste buds!

Here’s how to cook perogies:

1.  Put some cooking oil in a pan.  Use enough oil so that the bottom of the pan is covered.  Turn the heat on medium.

2.  Use tongs to add the perogies into the oil.  As you put a perogie into the pan, swirl it around a bit in the oil to make sure it doesn’t stick to the pan.

3.  Add as many as you like.  In one sitting, I can eat anywhere from four to ten perogies, so just decide how hungry you are.

4.  Let them cook for about four minutes and then use the tongs to flip them all over so the other side gets to cook too.

5.  Keep cooking them, flipping them after every three or four minutes, until each side is deliciously golden-brown.  Then use the tongs to take the perogies out of the pan and onto a plate.

6.  Now you can do what you want with your perogies!

There are some great things you can do with perogies.  Most people will eat them with some sour cream.  But you can add all sorts of things.  Put the perogies in a bowl, dollop some sour cream on top, and then add your fave veggies!  I like to top my perogies with a dollop of sour cream and then a mix of the following:  bacon pieces, tomato pieces, chopped onion, chopped jalapeno, chopped green peppers, grated cheese, red chili flakes, salt and pepper.

Yum!
