The saltiness of feta combined with the glory of Kalamata olives, all mixed with olive oil and bread. It’s a pretty good snack or sidedish.
This is so easy to make. You need to be able to mix things and toast things.
Here’s what you need to make Salty Greek Toast:
- Bread (2 or 3 large rolls, or 1 baguette, etc.)
- 1/2 cup of olive oil
- 1/2 cup of feta cheese (or more!)
- 7 Kalamata olives
- A bit of fresh oregano
- Some fresh-cracked black pepper
Here’s how to make Salty Greek Toast:
1. Use a liquid measuring glass to measure out 1/2 a cup of olive oil.
2. Add some freshly-cracked black pepper.
3. Cut the oregano up into really small pieces and add it in.
4. Use a fork to stir it all together.
5. Cut the Kalamata olives into pieces around the pits. Then cut them into smaller pieces and put them aside. Make sure you don’t keep any of the olive pits.
6. Cut the bread into pieces about 1/2 – 3/4 of an inch thick.
7. Arrange the bread slices on your toaster oven baking sheet.
8. Stir up the oil again and then use the spoon to put some oil on each piece of bread. After you put the oil on the bread, use the back of the spoon to spread the oil all over the top side of the piece of bread.
9. Sprinkle the bread with the Kalamata olive pieces and then the Feta cheese.
10. Cook in your toaster oven for about 10 minutes – watch the feta, once it starts to brown, your Salty Greek Toast is done!
