Make these if you need a quick appetizer for unexpected guests, or if you are in need of a super-lazy but satisfying meal that requires very little effort…
Low on cooking skills? No problem! If you can open a bag of Doritos and grate some cheese (or buy pre-grated cheese), you can make this awesome adventure!
Here’s what you need to make Snappy Nachos:
- About 1/2 a bag of Doritos (regular cheese flavor)
- A good chunk of cheddar or mozzarella cheese, or a mix of both
- Some pickled jalapeno slices
- Aluminum foil
Here’s how to make them:
1. Turn your toaster oven on to 400 degrees.
2. Line your toaster oven baking sheet with a piece of aluminum foil.
3. Cover the aluminum foil with a layer of Doritos.
4. Grate up the cheese and sprinkle half of it on top of the Doritos. Then place a few pickled jalapeno slice on top.
5. Cover with the rest of the grated cheese and then put it in the oven.
6. Cook them for about ten minutes, but keep your eye on them. You want to take them out as soon as the cheese is nice and melty. I’ve discovered that Doritos start to burn after about 8 minutes, so just keep your eye on the situation.
7, Once they’re cooked the way you like them, simply pull the sheet of aluminum foil from the hot baking sheet to a dinner plate.
8. Enjoy!!!
Here’s what it costs to make Snappy Nachos:

- Cheese: $1.20
- Jalapeno slices: $0.20
- Foil: $0.05
Total cost to make: $2.95
This is a very quick, very tasty, and very easy snack that is a real life-saver when you’re in a lazy mood but you want something hot and satisfying!
